ulumu is inspired by the Turkish word for wolf - a symbol of power - and the ululation, the celebratory “lelele” cry of women across the Mediterranean and beyond. We exist to nourish through joy and the timeless Mediterranean tradition of food as medicine.

ulumu was born when Mamoun and Grace craved and decided to make simsimiyya - seed and honey treats full of Mediterranean warmth and nostalgia from their childhoods. Energizing, low-glycemic index, and easy to carry, they became the perfect snack for on the go. 

With less sugar than the traditional simsimiyya, ulumu's bars bring healthy fats, micronutrients, and energy without the sugar spike.
